FCC Announces Third ECF Application Window

Due to outstanding demand, the FCC just announced that they will open a third Emergency Connectivity Fund application filing window! This is great news for schools that need connectivity equipment and/or services.

The ECF is a program for schools and libraries to request support for eligible equipment and services (including up to 12 months of service received or delivered between July 1, 2022 and December 31, 2023).

The third application filing window will be open April 28–May 13, 2022.

  • Recurring service requests submitted during this filing window

  • Other non-recurring service

This third wave of ECF support can be used to request the following devices:

  • Wi-Fi hotspots

  • modems (including air cards)

  • routers

  • devices that combine a modem and router

  • connected devices (laptop and tablet computers)

The limit on the ECF per device is $400—but that can be applied to high-cost devices like staff laptops.
