Job Description
The Sales Manager is responsible for managing the entire sales lifecycle, which includes: prospecting and qualifying new sales opportunities; performing onsite and online demonstrations; proposing and closing managed service contracts; and the sale of services and products. The Sales Manager is also responsible for managing the daily activities of the Sales Team
Responsibilities
Strategy Development: Create a business plan and sales strategy that aligns with company objectives and drives results.
Team Management: Build, lead, and motivate a high-performing sales team, ensuring they meet or exceed monthly sales targets.
Performance Monitoring: Regularly review sales productivity and manage quotas, commission rates, and payroll reporting.
Sales Process Oversight: Use tools like ConnectWise to monitor the sales pipeline, ensure it stays filled with qualified leads, and review sales metrics for reporting to leadership.
Pricing and Discounts: Collaborate with leadership to set price schedules and discounts, then communicate these to the sales team.
Sales Support: Assist the team with daily tasks as needed, such as client quotes, and ensure consistency in processes and standards.
Training and Development: Develop training programs to enhance the team’s skills, maintain industry knowledge, and ensure a deep understanding of the service catalog.
Documentation and Compliance: Document internal procedures, conduct performance reviews, approve time and expense reports, and enter all work in ConnectWise.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, business administration, or related field (MBA preferred but optional).
Several years of sales and business management experience, ideally with MSP or VAR industry knowledge.
Familiarity with PSA systems like ConnectWise and quoting tools like Quotewerks.
Strong understanding of strategic planning, resource management, and leadership.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of technology terminology and configurations.
Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation for on-site work, and current auto insurance.
